*Montessori After School Teacher*
*Preschool 3 to 6th Grade*
We are searching for a reliable, trustworthy, and innovative after school teacher to join our excellent school.
The Montessori Teacher’s responsibilities include creating and scheduling age appropriate activities, assessing children’s individual needs, and communicating with parents as required.
You should be able to create a nurturing, calm, and loving environment.
After School Teacher Responsibilities:
* Be reliable and on time
* Ability to work 10 months out of the year August to May
* Observing, guiding, supervising, and assessing children while in after care
* Implement independent learning exercises, and age appropriate activities
* Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel safe and valued.
* Establishing rapport and building relationships with students based on trust.
* Setting an excellent example for students and instilling good values in them like honesty, accountability, understanding, tolerance, respect, love, and kindness.
* Monitoring and assessing student behavior
* Ensuring classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition
* Follow all pickup procedures in place
* Light cleaning/sanitizing duties
* Ability to work some school closure dates/ weather closures for our extended after care program
Montessori Teacher Requirements:
* High School Diploma
* Pass a DHR background check
* Passionate about alternative education.
* An ability to teach groups of children of varying ages, needs, and abilities.
* Patience and excellent observational, communication, and diagnostic skills.
* The ability to multitask, keep calm under pressure, and treat everyone with love and respect.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Ability to work some school closure days for our extended after care program
Hours:
School in session: Monday to Friday 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Extended After care hours:
Vary depending on school schedule
Have the abliliy to work a set closure schedule for our students by working half days closures, some of Winter break, amd some Government holiday school closures.
Benefits:
Starting salary: $12 per hour
10 month position
