Job Description
EDGE Software is seeking a full-time employee to provide support and training to customers and users.
This role will encourage open communication with customers as well as technical writing and documentation, fostering greater understanding of our software suite both internally and externally.
You will be expected to become a subject matter expert on EDGE Software operation and act as the face of the software team to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Create training and support materials for EDGE software
Lead out-of-house training classes for new users
Create relationships with customers and users to facilitate further training for power users
Respond to customer helpdesk tickets and calls
Attend design and development meetings to stay on top of developer intent with new features and releases
Work closely with development and engineering teams to understand user needs and development capabilities.
Employee Expectations
High level understanding of Autodesk design software (Mostly Autodesk Revit, though familiarity with Revit-adjacent tools such as AutoCAD, etc.
is encouraged)
Complete understanding of EDGE customer-facing products and services
Ability to articulate design decisions and functionalities to users and customers
Technical writing competency for support materials and help files
Willingness to create training videos and potentially travel to customer-oriented events to represent EDGE Software interests and provide direct support to customers
Qualifications
Preferred (in no particular order)
Familiarity with Autodesk Software
Familiarity with EDGE Software
Experience in structural engineering or modeling, even better if in the concrete/precast industry
Experience in a similar software support role
Bachelor's Degree or greater in a relevant field
Necessary (in no particu lar order)
Communication skills
Technical writing competency
Interest or passion for customer outreach and service
Some experience with engineering or design software
Some experience in professional communication either in:
Customer facing support role
Intra-company communication in a team setting
