We are looking for a front desk professional for our Family Medicine Practice.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Greets visitors, ascertains purpose of visit, and directs them to appropriate staff.
Interviews patients/clients to complete documents, case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms.
Collects co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding self-pay balances from patients/clients upon arrival for appointments.
Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence using a computer and various software programs.
Transmits correspondence and medical records by mail, email, or fax.
Schedules and confirms patient/client appointments.
Answers telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
Receives and routes messages and documents such as laboratory results to appropriate staff.
Operates office equipment such as voicemail messaging systems, and uses word processing, spreadsheet, and other software to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories, and medical records.
Maintains medical records, technical library, and correspondence files.
Performs various clerical and administrative functions such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
6 months of office experience preferred; not required.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of VRR systems (EHR, HRIS, PM) and their integration and interfaces.
Knowledge of operational characteristics and procedural requirements of third party payers.
Advanced knowledge of Excel use and other related software applications and interfaces.
Knowledge of communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Ability to develop and maintain rapport with personally and culturally diverse clients.
Ability to build trust among coworkers, clients and the community.
Willingness to gain understanding about cultural humility and other principles of trauma-informed care, person-centered care, evidence-based practice, and military cultural competence.
Willingness to commit to VRR’s organizational values (Integrity, Compassion and Respect) and strategic direction.
Supervisory relationships
Reports directly to the Office Manager
Provides no supervision
Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements
Minimal travel in Mobile and Baldwin County
