* Guarantees the efficient operation of the repair station to meet quality standards and department goals by managing a team.
This includes hiring, training, overtime management, reviewal/approval of employee time sheets for payroll processing, and PTO scheduling.
Conducts performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
* Ensures all team members follow and understand all company policies and procedures including but not limited to CMM, repair station procedures and practices, established systems compliance, safety practices and procedures, performance of overhaul and repair work following approved technical data, and human resources policies.
Audits personnel for adherence to CMM, and proper use of equipment, and verifies the quality of work through routine control checks
* Plans, and assigns daily activities based on technician’s skills and client needs to ensure all work is being accomplished in accordance with approved technical data.
Creates daily schedule for technicians.
* Meets KPIs assigned (including revenue, profitability, warranty, and TAT).
If KPIs aren’t met, analyze and recommend the course of action.
* Manages productivity levels vs.
labor hours of each technician.
Ensures accurate vouching of labor hours and addresses variances and OT.
* Ensures work orders have clear work scopes, teardowns address client specifications, and guarantees teardowns are accurate.
Accountable for completing the correct inspection of units and teardown reports before submitting them to the customer service department.
Ensures technicians conduct accurate pretest findings and are efficient when ordering parts.
* Conducts cost analysis of work orders part’s cost.
Assigns 100% kits or reviews parts list and constantly reviews for accuracy.
Authorizes internal repairs and the interchangeability of parts in accordance with the CMM-required standards.
* Answers any technical inquiries to other departments and manages expediting requests.
Ensures timely and proactive communication of work orders by maintaining proper track and updates on the unit’s status.
Keeps customer service department informed and provides recovery plans with estimated completion dates.
Reports and tracks the complete flow of expedited work orders to ensure on-time delivery.
* Completes all signatures and ensures quality checklist reflects accuracy.
* Oversees and ensures the work quality of the shop to align with quality control department standards.
Conducts analysis to detect failures and addresses the root cause by completing corrective actions.
Accountable for external and internal audit findings.
* Researches and evaluates the effectiveness of machinery, equipment, and shop procedures, and recommends and implements changes to improve operational efficiency.
Ensures shop equipment and tools are kept in good working conditions.
Responsible for keeping tools in order and in good working conditions.
Submits requests to engineering on tooling and fixtures, as needed.
Accountable for testers and test equipment for their shop.
* Ensures that the assigned work areas are adequately lit, ventilated, and the housekeeping of all designated areas is maintained towards 5S.
Oversees that technicians keep all areas organized, including benches, testing bays, and tooling.
Responsible for creating a culture of orderliness and attention to detail.
