Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures by following proper infection control protocols
- Handle and pass instruments to surgeons during procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with patient assessment before, during, and after surgery
- Assist with patient positioning and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
- Document and maintain accurate medical records of surgical procedures
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
- Familiarity with medical documentation and record keeping
- Proficiency in assisting with various types of surgeries, including pediatrics, orthopedics, or general surgery
- Experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for surgical planning is a plus
- Familiarity with dental assisting or dental receptionist experience is beneficial
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques, such as X-ray or MRI, is advantageous
