SUMMARY: The Mortgage Documentation Specialist is responsible for preparing real estate loans to ensure that they are initiated in conformance with all TRID guidelines.
Initiate and maintain professional and courteous contact with both Mortgage Originators, Lenders, Underwriters and Members at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to the following: Performs a full range of mortgage loan processing for both Home Equity and 1st Mortgage loan products.
Coordinates and engages with members, realtors and title companies.
Monitors and maintains the Mortgage Pipeline including reporting of backlog, capacity and conflicts to Manager.
Initiates contact with applicant regarding any mailed/emailed disclosures.
Responsible for all signed disclosures, flood certifications, escrow and loan estimates.
Follows all TRID requirements and internal procedures, ensures that all pertinent documents have been signed.
Monitors rate lock information for data integrity and expirations dates; communicates discrepancies with Mortgage Originator.
Requests of applicant remittance of funds for Appraisal order.
Responsible for timing and re-disclosing of documents deemed necessary according to TRID Calendar.
Maintains constant contact with Mortgage Originator and Lenders throughout the application process.
Monitors and maintains assigned loan pipeline and submission for status held meetings with supervisor.
Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Adheres to all New Horizons policies, checklists, procedures and Best Practice standards.
Represents and promotes New Horizons within the community through participation of Credit Union sponsored events including other civic events.
Ensures that all public relations activities and internal projects support short and long-term objectives of the Credit Union.
Adheres to quality control standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to compose professional correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group settings to members, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, interest, dividend and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
August 2019 REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to accurately perform detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to analyze and resolve problem situations with Members and staff.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with officials, coworkers, examiners, auditors and members.
